Explain? :jbhmm:

What exactly would Steph not be doing in the 2000s that he's doing now?:patrice:

You do realize Nash won 2 MVPs in the 2000s right?:usure:

Steph might struggle with Baron because of his size, but no Fanchise and Marbury would not get the better of him.:comeon:

You'd have a better argument with GP and Kidd at least they were great defenders.

Steve Nash was also a better player and would shyt on Curry, he also birthed his whole style.:russell: #NEXT

It's bizarre to me how irrationally some people hate Curry.

I guess it's because he plays a "soft" brand of basketball, that is based on "finesse" skills like shooting. We'll completely disregard his handles and passing skills for the sake of this post.

He's just going to have a solid 5-7+ year run shooting lights out and styling all over the PGs in the league. If you watch NBA, you see he's even better now than he was just earlier this year in the playoffs. When he was killing Houston and icing the Cavs.

He's best shooter in league history. Act like that fact alone combined with his athleticism, handles, passing skills, and IQ doesn't make him a top 5 player on this planet brehs.

Edit: this not even necessarily directed at idiot in OP story, but moreso at the sheer number of people who try to shyt on Curry for whatever reason. You look dumb af. Sit down and be quiet already.

That's because you're an idiot. :yeshrug:

Having an unpopular opinion on this website often means you're more in tune with reality.

@Malta also took my statement and worded it in a way to make it look as if I'm shytting on Steph, when all I said was that he nor Harden, and Davis(two other current elite players at their respective positions) wouldn't be considered the best at their positions if they played in the 2000s.

I think Curry is the GOAT shooter, I just can't see him dominating the way he is now, back then, too many good players, nikka mentioned the likes of Wall, Conley, and some other underachieving bums who never amounted to anything.

If you gonna big up a guy like Wall how could you shyt on Francis and Marbury?:shaq2: He's just a lesser version of them.

You don't think todays NBA is Weaker yet we have Duncan walking round looking like Moses still schooling these young nikkas. Kobe on one leg, and age 36 averaged 35 against Golden state last year, Paul Pierce still hitting big shots at 35, KG still competing and he was drafted in 95. All these guys in their prime in todays NBA would be GOD TIER.

Steph was not a bad shooter percentage ise, and he got crucified for playing the exact same way they want PGs to play now.

Exactly, nikka averaged 20 and 8 for like 9 straight years and these nikkas act like what I'm saying is so crazy, like I mentioned some bum point guard that sat on the bench his whole career.

The game was more inside out in the 2000s and these guys still had huge numbers, Marbury would be a top PG in the league today.

Jordan, Karl Malone and John Stockton were still giving dudes that work in the early 00s despite being ancient, using older HOF legends as a means of putting down the current league is retarded :russ: Kareem was giving dudes work in the 80s despite being a dinosaur.

Wall is better than Marbury and Francis, you're just so caught up on "back in the day" shyt that you can't see it.

:manny:I stand by what I said.

Curry wouldn't be doing what he's doing now if he played in the 2000s era. Neither would Harden, or Davis.

I admitted Curry's the GOAT shooter tho.

And yes, I also admit that all three of those guys would get the better of Curry in a 1v1 matchup :yeshrug:

Norfeast groovin…
It must be something about second generation NBA players cuz I'm starting to see some of that same irrational hate that Kobe dealt with creeping up on Steph. @MrScum how in the fukk could Steph not beast in the early 00s when AI, one of the GOAT scoring smalls, thrived in that era. Steph with a title contender around him would've been clashing with Kobe and Duncan while making a name for himself.

smh, I know "hater" is grossly overused nowadays but at the same time its such a prevalent part of our culture of fandom now. nikkaz can't just enjoy sports no more.

This isn't Stephon Marbury, the guy that got Ewing Theory'd after the Nets-Suns trade (subsequent Finals trip with Kidd with most of the same roster), is it? :skip: Dude was a nice stats but mediocre impact player and poor defender, and the teams he was on in his prime reflect that.

Franchise's best shooting season was 43% and as we all know Curry shoots that from three. This is Curry vs Iverson all over again except Francis is worse than AI so we know where that leads.

Diddy was fun to watch as a big guard and played more defense in his prime than Stephon but this is why you can't get too carried away with watching that dead ball era shyt where a flashy dude like Diddy would stand out. His most efficient shooting year was 43% and was an atrocious mid range/outside shooter :deadmanny: don't confuse the slowness of pace with better defense.

Steph is great right now. I've never seen anyone like him.. But anytime you crown somebody the greatest before they turn 30 you're going to have backlash.. Sometimes you just have to enjoy the moment without trying to predict historical context. We've seen the same things happen with Tyson and Tiger Woods.. Or Jaws with Colin Kapernick..

It seems like sometimes dudes just wanna be able to say " I called it first!" or "It happened in my lifetime" that they are quick to disregard history...

It can be described as in the moment dikk riding by the cynical types... (not me)

But bringing up them dudes from the early 2000s as better than Steph is a joke.. That's the worst Era of basketball in my lifetime..

Steph is 1995 Penny Hardaway right now. Hopefully he's blessed with health and longevity so he can actually maintain the level of greatness he's at right now

:salute:
