Just read the article. If the guy could still hit like that and was willing to play for the minimum and got 0 calls then he's got an easy lawsuit win. He seemed like a jerk a lot, but I'm backing him here. Clear collusion. Go get their money Barry.

Collusion, though pretty clear, will still be difficult to prove, imo.

So that alone eliminates 16 teams. So now we've narrowed it down to seeing if the American League colluded. Some teams you could argue didn't need Bonds. Also, Bonds was 42 years old tryna compete for a ring. Bonds at that point likely wouldn't have taken a job DHing in front of 12 people on a wack ass Devil Rays team. He'd have to prove that a team wanted to sign him but couldn't. Besides that, he wasn't entitled employment, and to not sign him, there were easy reasons to pass on him, so whether it's true or not, how will he prove that, I don't know.

Jason Giambi just retired last year. Jim Thome retired 2 years ago. And they were exclusively DH/National League super pinch hitters. Barry could have did that another 5 years.

Probably not. Hell, if he was down to just be some glorified player /coach /pinch hitter, he coulda did that in San Francisco, but he ain't suing for that.

You're also severely downplaying any controversy or lack thereof in signing someone like Giambi (a washed up Giambi at that) and ESPECIALLY Thome.

hes right tho. I love Barry but imo he doesnt stand much of a chance here, this shyt will be impossible to prove...you need not only prove that one team blackballed him, but like 15 teams and did it all at once and in collusion to exclude him...if his lawyer wins this case...its like a win of a century.

its the exact same as the perjury trial. we all know bonds knew he was taking roids. he said he didnt know. proving he knew was entirely impossible, yet dragged out at trial for no reason. we all know mlb teams united and kept him off rosters. they claim they didnt. proving it is impossible. its an absolute waste of time for everyone involved
