Based on ESPN's own metric, high school basketball is going through a great depression.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
And the 2023 class is one of the all time worst in terms of how the kids were rated coming out.

Isaiah Collier was the number one player. To put things into perspective the Class of 2010 had 50 players rated higher than him.

The Class of 2014 had 15 players rated higher than him. The class of 2019 had 17 players rated higher.

For all the heat Bronny is getting this year, there are a ton of players who were rated higher than him that have flopped as freshman.... Not to mention Bronny was ranked 20th according to ESPN.

The 25 and 26 classes are a little better in terms of how they're rated but not by much.

Wooden finalists list came out and most of the players are seniors and white. One is a cac at Tennessee who transferred from a mid major school. :scusthov:

The level of coaching at the high school level is trash. And when you add how bad that G-League Ignite team is doing, it only reinforces the fact that high school basketball has a problem.
