This is a classic to me.
Quik is a genius. If you really breakdown what’s going on in this track it’s fukking wild. The amount of detail is crazy. Quik really plays with sounds, tempo changes, key/frequency changes, etc. Not even high-end Pop producers do that today.
Really an underrated clean, bright high-frequency sounds producer. Dude really could have been a dope pop record maker. Quik got the ear for that stuff.
Dude got a Madonna sample on a Jay-Z beat. Quik tries different things and that’s dope af.
Jazz’s Pha is a legend too, a lot of women danced and continue to dance to his songs.

I was today years old when I heard a DJ Quik being called a trash producer. Even if he isn't your favorite. He is not only a great producer but he had one of the most compelling evolutions and musical journeys of almost any producer.

fukk Toto…. Pharrell didn’t “write” the melody either…. But… Quincy Jones produced Human Nature for Mike Jack and SWV used Mike Jack’s sample heavy in that song…. Hence why it’s named the human nature remix…. Not the Toto remix….
