I'm confident in them to do it right this time, because the last time they wanted to do something dope with cruiserweights (The original idea was bringing international talent for a tournament, or something like that) they ended with that Juniors Division midget shyt.

More like Kevin Nash will come back at the age of 60 and bury the entire division :dame:

I might have to. You think ratings are in the tank now? Wait until you have a bunch of 3'8" midgets flying through the air occupying television time that should be going to wrestlers that are tall enough to ride a roller coaster. I keep preaching to the masses the ineffectiveness of vanilla midgets and yet people on TSC still want to see people like Cesaro, who won't draw a dime and has the promo skills of a crack-addicted mime. This is why back in the day, Hunter would be the designated driver for Shawn, Scott, and I. Anytime he drank, he had all sorts of fukked up ideas that everyone at the bar would laugh at.

All that does is take them out of the main event picture...they were great in WCW but all it did was keep guys like Eddie Benoit and Jherico out of the main title picture and marginalized them

i don't really consider that much of a problem. the way i see it the cream of the crop will find a way to transcend the division.

the cruiserweight division was a huge success in WCW and got a lot of guys over, all while expanding the roster and adding another dimension to the show. i would very much welcome something similar in WWE.

It might marginalize them but it might also save the (main roster) careers of guys like Adrian Neville.

:leon:Haitch always seemed like a dude that would absolutely hate cruiserweights
People need to peep game and realize Trips is a die-hard wrestling fan on every level. How he approached the business himself and went about his career is a direct result of his influences (Nash, HBK, Hall) but dude is a wrestling stan, his mentality towards the business is more akin to the Benoit's, Guerrero's, and Jericho's than the Nash's and Hogan's people would associate him with.

The proof of this lies entirely in NXT. That's his. Every decision there, from roster, to staff, to final say on booking, is his. And look what type of place it is. Look at the people he brings in not just as wrestlers, but as teachers and coaches. Regal, Sara Del Rey, hiring Jimmy Jacobs as a writer, outright saying he views Evolve as a development territory, Norman Smiley, Robbie Brookside, Adam Pearce, Brian Kendrick (who people for years assumed Trips hated).

When it comes to Triple H the wrestler, we all know the drill. Man is going to put himself over by any means. But Paul Levesque the wrestling businessman is much more in-tune and has tastes much more akin to that of the diehard wrestling fan than anyone would have imagined. Though we should have seen the signs when he tried to become a Harley Race/Flair hybrid in 2002-05

There's no point on a Cruiserweight Divison when the heavyweights on the main roster are pulling off similar moves and doing a similar style (or a hybrid of the style).

If it's an NXT-exclusive then I'd be more for it. But the dudes that come off there to the main roster are gonna have even bigger problems than the guys who are going up now...and that's saying something.
