He did an ok job in Jacksonville without a heck of a lot of talent at his disposal
He did a pretty good job as DC in Denver
He seems to be respected by his former players. He will be able to bring in a decent coaching staff.
And to top that all off, he grew up a Raiders fan. I want a coach who WANTS to be the Raiders coach, who respects the Raiders' history, knows what it means to be a Raider, and wants badly to restore the franchise to prominence.
No, he's not a big name "rock star" coach, but which guys like that were even available?
