He probably knew he had a several month break and decided to come back for the $$$. He probably had an option to make a sub-par movie or make a few more dollars in the E and not make his acting resume look bad.

They usually sign with a downside guarantee. So he knew he was making that at least. Everything else stems from merch, tickets, etc. So my assumption is that he's not pulling in what he figured he was going to pull in on top of his guarantee.

I think in his interview CM Punk said that Batista is there for two years so he didn't consider him a part timer.

So I guess that means he'll be back after the summer.

The script earlier in the day called for a Daniel Bryan vs. Batista match but the script had to be changed. Dave Meltzer reported that Batista has agreed to stay through the WWE Payback show but will not be putting Daniel Bryan over. Instead it will be a rematch between Evolution and The Shield.

As noted earlier, Daniel Bryan vs. Kane in a buried alive match will headline the show.
