to be honest i think batman begins is the best one in the trilogy. No annoying voices, great story, believable or at least more logical fight sequences and Gotham felt like Gotham vs Chicago or Pittsburgh like in the other films.
yeah the villians weren't as good as the joker but everything else was better.

Dark Knight Rises tried to do too much. The premise alone still boggles my mind. If there is a world where a Batman can exist, let alone a Gotham City, there's no reason Bruce Wayne would stop being Batman for 8 years let alone do some stupid shyt like take the fall for Harvey Dent and compromise "The Mission".

Nothing is, nor has anything ever been more important than "The Mission". So in that sense, Nolan failed.

All things considered though, it is still the greatest superhero trilogy ever and up there in trilogies in general considering the third movie in a trilogy is usually pretty sub par.

Bruce Wayne was Batman for less than a year: out of his 30 year life :dead:

That 8 year time gap did hurt the series in my opinion, should have been no more than a years time to pass for Gordon and the boys to use the Dent Act.

Batman Begins is easily the better of the two. Solid story, not too big not too small, better character work and it didn't overreach. Dark knight rises just went for too much and tried to go against the rules of the universe that Batman Begins and Dark Knight set up as far as realism, rules, structure, etc. The 8 year gap, Bruce being out in Calcutta or wherever with huts and then he's back in Gotham with no money to his name and no Alfred to help, the pit of despair with Sunday Ticket, Talia's ridiculous revenge scheme (even though she had that man in the most compromising position with his pants down)...the list goes on and on

The 8 year time gap, Talia being revealed as the main villain, and Bruce's lack of intelligence will forever be a stain on the movie for me. Nolan too often forgot that Batman is as good a detective as he is a fighter, that essential component was missing most glaringly in TDKR. Atleast BB and TDK had some substantial detective aspects, without that scene of Bruce looking up where Selena lives he does zero detective work.
