Geoff Johns was the same dude who was a co-producer as well as creative consultant on the Green Lantern film. Even defended it after the bad reception. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

So was Berlanti who was fired from the project and his script wasn't used. He said himself that he doesn't know why he was credited as a producer when he had nothing to do with the film. The film's faults were Campbell rewriting the whole movie, the OG script was way better

No problem with this as long as they don't go complete reactionary and turn these movies into semi-comedies. I love the tone of the two movies they've done. If lightness and humor is genuinely the writer/director's vision then cool, but don't make it a mandate.
