Its a cool lil sub genre of rap....

It's corny at times but at the end of the day rap is about rapping. It's not about having a gang of bytches hanging around, how much money you got or how much dope you sold.

Battling Rapping and Freestyling will always get more respect from me than anything a rapper has supposedly done in the streets.

Cacs in battle rap are the worst :snoop:
It should not take 117 syllables to get the fukking punchline.

You don't all have to have the same delivery.

Random Wu-Tang references don't make your shyt hot.

It's like they have no creativity so they overcompensate by being "complicated"

"Better get to steppin' before my hand becomes perpendicular with my weapon" ass cacs :pacspit:

Writing songs, creative ideas, new dope productions etc is dope to me. Freestyling is cute, like an appetizer. Nothing serious.

All that battle shyt is pre written shyt anyway, which is fine cuz off the dome is truly wack.
Thread is painful....dudes really think battle rap started after 8 mile...cats showing their age and ignorance in here.

There were tournaments. Eminem used to BE in tournaments so they had to exist for him to participate. :skip: They didn't create them out of thin air because that (at the time) nobody showed up.

While we're on topic of Battle Rap can someone explain to me this whole street mentality in underground/East Coast rappers?

I guess I'm referring to that whole Boston scene mainly

Like La Coka Nostra, or HMK and Vpaz, Necro, or Mr. Hyde... Is their image authentic? Or is it all a facade for their music? Just personally, some of these dudes got the image of tattooed up bikers rapping.
