In fighting games, players with Arcade Sticks usually dominate most of the time. This domination forces pad players to do one of two things
1) buy an arcade stick
2) get better
Either way your skill set grows with either decision (with time and effort)
If they don't seperate Pad and Stick player in fighting games, I don't see why they should seperate Pad and M/KB players in FPS games
it's an automatic handicap

I thought I remembered Shadowrun doing something to the controls so that when they matched PC gamers vs Console gamers the PC gamers aim with the cursor was always off and inaccurate whereas the console aiming was point and shoot. I did a quick Google search and couldn't find anything mentioning that but I could have sworn I remember that happening. Either way, based on that link, I doubt this whole Battlefield 4 rumor will come to pass.

mouse allows faster reaction time and better aim.
the tool itself isn't gonna make the player better, but the tool is still better for the job.

Snap aiming and instant 180s will rape anything a controller could do AND if you're allowed to bind keys to wherever then that will also > controller button layouts.
Look at XIM3/Edge users on consoles now. Just slaughtering the comp.

its actually quite easy to explain in basic terms
lets say you want to select one SINGLE pixel in a 1920*1080 area. you know the coordinates more or less. for example, youd want to select one pixel right next to the-coli logo in upper left right now. which will be easier and faster to do it with, mouse or controller ?
