The well known source of insider information of the game world “Shinobi602” once again today shares some data about one of the most anticipated games of the year. In his tweet, he has hinted that a fifth installment of the Battlefield album will be presented to the public on Friday, May 6th 2016.
Previously, EA has confirmed the release of the new Battlefield this year, in addition E3 2016 is just around the corner, and DICE also has to submit its response for Call of Duty: the Infinity Warfare.

1) 1944 could be an expansion similar to the Vietnam expansion of Bad Company 2. It would be EA's way of competing with the Cod 4 remaster.
2) The pictures could very well be fake.

Why would DICE make 2144 when The Final Stand servers are barely used on consoles? Also, between Advanced Warfare, Halo, Gears, Destiny, and, Ea's other flagship FPS franchise, Titanfall, the market is over saturated with gritty futuristic shooters.
Plus, a WW2 setting would be the return to great Rush centered maps.
It also allows for greater diversity in the map settings. (Campaigns in Europe, Africa, the Pacific, and Russia)
Gameplay wise, It would nerf the vehicles and the combat would be prinarily infantry based. That would lead to more competitive Rush matches and more importantly, it would stress the importance of team work in Conquest.
Overall BF 1944 would be a much more intense game than BF4.
