Bay Area Breh's!!!! I need some help/advice

I will began my position at UC Berkeley (1st time in Cali period) this January I need to know a few things about Berkeley CA, and the rest of the Bay Area...

-Info about the BART
-Good places to eat/hang out
-Barbershop to get a nice cut
-Area's to stay away from (I already know Oakland is one)

And anything else I need to know, and be aware of in transition to the Bay Area...

I intend on staying in the area I am in it pretty much next to the Berkeley campus. I do want to visit San Fran though, I think I gonna use the BART Instead of driving down that way though. You know any good Barbershops in the area?

Bart has minimal stops its nothing like NYC subway. Get familiar w/ the buses, cable cars and street cars because Bart is to get from City to city and not around the city.

Berkely is cool. Shattuck ave & telegraph is cool. A lot of erykah badu type chicks around UC Berkeley. A lot of laid back lounges and bars around there. But if u are actually a student at UC Berkeley u should be UC Berkely has some fine bytches. Hit up all the AKA parties forsure. Oakland isn't as bad as people make it out be (just stay away from the turfs) like Sobrante,Brookfield, Seminary,Ghostown, Acorns, etc

Jack London Square is cool and parts of downtown are cool too. Lake Merrit, Montclair, Rockridge and Peidmont are the nice parts of Oakland.

Use bart as much as u can it will save u gas, money & time

San Leandro,Dublin,Pleasanton,Hayward, are all cool cities to eat and shop. Stay away from east oakland and west oakland at all costs. Downtown Oakland is safe as is Jack London Square and Piedmont. As far as the clubs and shyt go you gotta go to Frisco. Yelp is your friend.

You're gonna be in Berkeley, so be prepared for all the bums and dirty ass people hangin around there. It's not too bad there, they keep it safe there with the university there. Stay away from the areas people have listed, because theres nothing there but violence, poverty and ignorance. There's plenty of decent places to eat all along telegraph, shattuck, and in that berkeley area in general so finding a good food spot it easy. I didn't find a barber shop in berkeley, I had to suck it up and go to one on oakland I soon learned how to cut my own hair

anyway, Berkeley is dope, so much culture there, one of tha most progressive places in tha world, tha bytches are freaks and sexually liberated, they clothes and hygiene is

most people on campus walk around Berkeley on Shattuck ave, there's plenty of all night cafes etc that students study at, it's like a NYC type atmosphere, crowded streets etc those couple square miles around tha campus, check out Fat Slice pizza on Shattuck :aah: a Bay Area classic exclusive to Berkeley

Like Ronnie Lott said definitely check out tha campus and house parties, those is cracking

if you want the real big city feel cross the bridge to Frisco, one of tha most beautiful cities in tha world

Naw breh I am just interning with athletics there. I was planning on using the BART for getting around period. I was gonna leave my car here back where I am from. I keep hearing how scarce parking spaces are and how expensive it can be to park near campus. I might just take it though idk yet.

I don't care bout the bums, I'm just gon keep it movin. Now the barbershop might be a problem. I have some Andis Speedmasters that I used now and then when I was in college (when I was low on money) so, I am not bad with them but I only cut within my means. I can never get it like my barber does And are there any grocery stores close to the UC Berkeley campus?

Yeah there's a Safeway and a Whole foods a few blocks north of the campus on Shattuck. Oh theres also this bomb ass Brazilian food cafe on the corner of University, maaan that's some good eatin.
