Since posting the story, we've seen a few tweets saying the medical personnel was actually fellow developmental talent Chris Atkins, so it's possible this is a work.
Reader Chris Hughes sent along that former NXT Women's Champion and uber fan favorite Bayley was injured at tonight's NXT tapings in Winter Park, FL. Our JJ Williams also reported the same via Twitter with some pictures.
However, there may be more than meets the eye here.
The 26-year-old was wrestling Nia Jax in what is possibly the main event of the third week of tapings. She had Jax in a guillotine when Jax picked up her up for a suplex. Bayley landed behind her, one of her legs buckled and she went into the corner.
The ref stalled for a minute and then Jax splashed her in the corner when she got up, did an elbow on the leg, and hit the leg drop for the clean win. After the match wrapped up, NXT trainers came out and helped Bayley to the back who was noticeably limping in a video clip we saw. Hughes and others said she appeared to be in a great deal of pain.
