I saw the apology video and he said he didn't use the word and purposely mumbled it, I didn't even know there was a version of that nursery rhyme with the N word

but he didn't apologize for using it he apologized if people thought he said it ...probably shouldn't have apologized because the headline that gets ran with makes it seem like he apologized for saying the N word

I have never seen the show Top Gear.
It's like you speak what you think. I'm very against using the N word, as a non-black person, so I don't even think the word. If I did, I'm sure it would slip out, and that would be embarassing. Even though I think I'm a breh of sorts, I don't believe I have a pass, or card, to use that word in public to strangers.
This is why when white celebrities get caught using the word in public in a derogatory manner, they might apologize, but it slipped out because that's how they think.

Paula Deen is going to try to come back this year. I don't know how much she's going to be accepted.
