listen, you sound like Donald Trump talking this nonsense. A lot of great players started out as a great attackers and may have changed into a more positional way of playing once they had a real coach teach them some serious strategies. You didn't answer my first two questions either. Nobody attacked better than Mikhail Tal....ever.

So you know more than a 1500 player that told me this ?

Because you watch chess ?

I don't watch cycling but I'm better than Tour de France Pros in the streets

just like with many other things, there need to be more opportunities for different groups across the world

yes, I am stronger than 1500 and I teach and read chess almost everyday. Regardless, it's about the history of the game and what can actually be proven and observed. Back in the 50s, the game was played more positional throughout Soviet Russia due to Mikhail Botvinnik and his school of thought and then came Mikhail Tal who knew had to attack like a madman and blew everyone out of the water to win the World Championship (just reflect on that) He had a pure talent and love for chess much like Fischer or Kasparov had. Kasparov can play any type of chess very well IMO. His attacking skills were incredible but he also knew how to play very positional chess which is how he defeated Karpov in the 80s and 90s and stayed champ for many many years. There isn't enough chess and mentorship right now for black players to become serious GMs so saying all this is like a comment someone may have made maybe observing chess at the park, cafe, some local chess club, but you can't really prove this and the whole idea that positional chess is always better than attacking chess doesn't fly with me. Nakamura is one of the best online players and he crushes people everyday ( I witness it live on chess.com) and he just destroys other Grandmasters with his attacks and tactics in speed chess. He is rated around 3200 on chess.com. There are a ton of vidoes on youtube for you to google. I was planning on posting them later anyway. HE DESTROYS GRANDMASTERS like school kids.

I use Chess With Friends but I play my best OTB during the day or when I'm rested (non-work days). I also like playing 960 chess on chess.com. I like 960 games because frankly, I get burnt out on regular chess from teaching it all the time.
