Showing up is 90% of the game in life
nobody is talking about them getting A'sNo the coaches want them to go to practice, do film study, do in season conditioning, do out of season conditioning, do self workouts in the weight room and practice facility, meet with their position group coaches, meet with their coordinators, get treatment from the training staff, workout after practice with their teammates, attend camps, study the playbook and know it cold, on and on and on. That shyt is their job and coaches call that shyt buy-in, being a team player and having winning culture. None of that shyt has to do with them attending class.
In that video the coach was only interested in them getting Cs just so they could stay eligible. He didn't give a shyt if Eddie or Quan actually has the aptitude to get As in biology, chemistry or physics and he was not going to push them and challenge them to do it. It is just all part of the exploitation those kids have been subjected to their whole lives by family, friends and coaches. I used to be Pollyanna about the shyt just like you, but I have come to realize what the shyt really is.
That is not necessarily a true statement either. There is an old school basketball player by the name of Sidney Wicks. He played on 3 NCAA title teams at UCLA. Due to bad high school grades Sidney Wicks could not qualify for a 4 year university out of high school so he ended up at a junior college for a year. Once he transferred to UCLA he became an academic All-American.If they suffered an injury and could no longer play football, they’re not going to turn into intelligent high-achieving students.
Which goes back to applying themselves.nobody is talking about them getting A's
did you see the show?
