A rapper, who is signed to #YoGotti's CMG label, said police stopped him outside an Atlanta bank after he withdrew hundreds of thousands of dollars of his own money, 11Alive News reports.
Sam Benson, also known as Blac Youngsta, said the incident occurred outside of the Wells Fargo on Peachtree Rd. NE. Benson said he withdrew $200,000 cash from his account, and was detained by police when he exited the bank.
"They come bum rushing me at the car, put me on the ground, put guns to my head, so I’m like 'What I do?' " Benson said. "A lady was like I’m not supposed to have…$200,000 on me. I’m like, 'I'm a millionaire. Why can I not have $200,000 on me?' "
Benson said police told him it was a case of mistaken identity and apologized after checking his account and seeing that it had $1.3 million. Apparently they had confused him with someone who had previously written a bogus check at the bank.
The #Tennessee rapper said police initially took $100,000 of his cash, but later gave it back to him. He said he had withdrawn the money to buy a vehicle.
Police told 11Alive that they had responded to the scene at the bank manager's request. "Officers found that no crime had been committed," said Atlanta Police Sgt. Warren Pickard.
11Alive reports that attempts to contact the bank were unsuccessful.
