Typically, high income means high stress. Having to remain in contact and work with generally sheisty, snake-like, aggressive and ruthless people. Being within a more strict environment. A constant steady encroachment on your personal life. Longer work days. Working on the weekends.

The paycheck may be nice but what is the ultimate cost?

Just a word of warning to all the up and coming brehs out there. Sometimes I wish I could just give it all up and work in a field where the stress levels are minimal to none with zero intrusion on my personal life. I'd give up half my salary for that. I buy a lot of fancy shyt but at the end of it all it becomes old to me within a couple weeks. And I buy all the shyt just to cover my overall dissatisfaction brought on by a brutally long and tough work environment.

Do you happen to know how much money your uncle makes? How senior is he? What is his typical work day/week like and are you there to witness it?

What do they do for a living and what is considered beaucoup?

Well that's project manager? Most of the project manager at my jobs do nothing but speak to clients all day and send out e-mails. They like throwing "client is getting frustrated" and get paid six figures for it lol but the hard work is passed on to you the technical guy. I personally plan on eventually going to security project manager so I can do the same thing BUT on the flip side, I would rather burn out on the technical side because it is just more job security to be on that side.

My barber looks at me crazy when I tell him
but if there’s anyone I envy daily experience it is his.

I have everything someone can ask for and it is not enough! All I dream of one day is working only for our community, that’s the only stress worth dealing with on a daily basis.

It's not too late to change course if you're unhappy.

I'm moving towards (cloud) cybersecurity and always doing my research and weighing up the pros and cons of each role, even though I know what it is I want to do.

Everything isn't for everybody, but as long as I got a good work/home life balance then I'm good.

Those 'day in the life of a.....' videos are good to watch too so you get an idea.

The stress you're dealing with is better than the stress of living check to check, or not being able to pay your bills on time monthly or the stress of working a job every day but still falling behind financially because you just dont earn enough.

Same phrase applies. Be careful what you're asking for.

That is not what I implied in the op.

I remember reading somewhere once that when wishing for a job, you should wish for more than just high pay. You should wish for a peaceful quality of life, wish that your mental health remain strong, wish for an environment that's conducive to tranquil growth and stability, wish for an easygoing smooth commute, etc.

Not sure how much that applies here, as I feel like some of this is borderline escaping the physical tangible side of things but it could be worth something.

Wishing you all the best OP. This is food for thought for myself as well.
