Goatganda the pearl of Africa
nowadays if you look hard enough you can find a hotel maybe its on the outskirt of the city but for the same price as an airbnb
only reason I did an airbnb on my last trip for one night is because it was 5 min from the airport and the guy drove me to the airport.

Have stayed in some really good Airbnbs, usually cleaner and less used than hotels depending on your budget.
Always always check reviews and contact the Host before making any payments.

Airbnb is a little bit shady with refunds, so make all communications and payments through the site

Condo rental been a thing for decades. Some times hotels are better, in other situations condo's/VRBO/Air BNB is better. As far as beaches in the US go, condos kill hotels all day long. Also if you planning a trip and want everyone to have their own bed, then VRBO/Air BNB is the best route. Intenationally its not even a contest, VRBO/Air BNB is the best.

Airbnb is trash as far as customer service
The Host can cancel the day of and Airbnb won't do much
Same with if you have an issue with the host
They really don't give a fukk
Takes a lot for a host listing to get taken off

it tells u on the listing if it has detectors
lot of fear mongering in this thread :mjlol:

I don’t know if it’s anything as dramatic as ā€œfear mongeringā€, but the story I was recalling happened in another country. In another country, I’ll stay where I feel safe and an Airbnb isnā€˜t at the top of the list :yeshrug:

Yeah unless you're looking for a house for like 12 people, I've never understood why people preferred AirBNB to a regular hotel room.

more room for less money
household amenities hotels don't have: kitchen, washer/dryer in unit, multiple bathrooms
and i prefer to be in residential area than tourist area when i travel. I recently stayed in a mountain side villa in a gated golf community in the Caribbean as opposed to a chain hotel a bunch of families and cruise ship ppl probably at
