Stannery/hating aside... I give it around 3/5 to 3.5/5, some of the songs were just colorless and unappealing, but Jay did his thing and I thoroughly enjoy the good songs on the album. On a couple tracks the shyt just drags on and the beat gets redundant like Jay-Z Blue and Nickels & Dimes.

Picasso Baby, Tom Ford, BBC, Versus, Beach Is Better, Crown, Somewhere In America, Holy Grail, FUTW, Heaven :stylin: I can do without Rick Ross on fukkWithMeYouKnowIGotIt

Current preference of Jay albums:
1. BA
2. RD
3. BP
4. AG
5. Vol. 1
6. MCHG
7. Dynasty
8. Vol. 3
9. Vol. 2
10. BP2
11. BP3
12. Kingdom Come

But let's not act like Jay wasn't spitting :comeon: Prolly not Nas LIG sharp, but his best lyrical effort since Black Album

6 out of 10 for me, subject to changing though as I will keep listening and I realize shyt can grow on you. But I'm not feeling it overall, nothing REALLY jumps out to me. I feel like I've heard albums recently that are better than this from artists I don't rate overall as high as Jay body of work wise. I still think Jay will come back hard and release some dope shyt, just this wasn't it for me.

1. Reasonable Doubt
(gap)
2. Vol. 1
3. Blueprint
(gap)
4. The Black Album
(gap)
5. The Dynasty
6. Vol. 3
7. Blueprint 2
8. Vol. 2
9. American Gangster
10. Magna Carta Holy Grail
11. Kingdom Come

12. Blueprint 3

BP3 is the only album I don't enjoy. Kingdom Come gets a lot of hate, but other than a few awful songs, I can fukk with it. BP2 is another album that gets hated on, but the good definitely outweighs the bad.

shyts a 4.5 outta 5 to me... Tom Ford was kinda iffy but everything else was straight dope to me. Wouldnt say its jays best lyrical effort (RD & AG) but you gotta be a fool to think he wasnt spitting & flowing on this album... and easily his best produced album after BP

Standout Tracks: Nickels & Dimes, Heaven, Part 2 On The Run, Jay Z Blue, Picasso Baby

4 mics on first/second skim through, I honestly still haven't heard EVERY song, nor have I heard them order (been all over the place the last couple days) so I'm still kinda sitting with it, but yea, I'm fukking with it. All this "jay's best record" shyt is retarded though, so is anybody calling this a "classic" this early, if at all.

Off of one listen I liked it. I got so much other stuff to listen to this is gonna wait for a bit, but I like what I heard it sounds like its gonna take me a month to catch everything and really decide where it ranks but it didn't jump to the front of the line as far shyt I need to be listening to. For now Ill say a 7 out of 10.

Y'all nikkas tripping this shyt is not better than kingdom come. And I don't get the American gangster stannin on this board, that shyt is nowhere near as good as vol 1. Get the fukk outta hear with that shyt.

I've listened about 8 or 9 times all the way through since last night and I really like it. I give it a STRONG 4/5 trending towards a 4.5/5. Musically and sonically it's the best production of the year! Jay has his misses on here no doubt, but he is on his shyt for the most part. "Heaven" is one of the best songs he has made to date. The 2nd verse on "Picasso Baby" is like he caught the Hovi Ghost and just spazzed the fukk out.

He might not be RD/Blueprint/American Gangster Jay, but in spots he is still exceptional.
