we were payin almost $80 prices be4 todays games existed ...lol
And I keep saying that the reason cartridge games were more expensive than CD based games is because cartridges are both hardware and software.

From this same picture looks how much cheaper PS1 games were in relation to Genesis and N64 games.

Absolutely not. I will be caking up on these subscription services for the foreseeable future. And once those prices go up I will stick to the monthly sales like I’m shopping at Kroger’s. Yall love posting them old ass magazine prices from the 90s when boys were boys and men were men type shyt… that ain’t got shyt to do with me today.

Today’s price is not yesterday’s price! and you not gonna tell me when I was paying $80 for early access and digital deluxe that all of a sudden I’m supposed to accept $80 standard in the same goddamn generation when these games ain’t changed or upgraded shyt. I’m just getting less for more. Ain’t no game worth getting hosed as a consumer.

I’ll go back to watching movies in the theatre for entertainment before I accept $80 especially from Nintendo but also for the other two. I’m not no “well those are the breaks” type of consumer. You’ll just see less of me.

Maybe I’m not the right demo to answer the question but I buy a ton of used games from GameStop and I’m usually ok with waiting for games (I’m busy and :flabbynsick: in relation to gaming)

I’ll spend $80 on a game that I really want because I don’t buy that many new :manny:

Im blessed in that money isn't remotely an issue for me, so yeah, I'd pay for it and wouldn't miss the money spent.

That said, the reality is your average gamer doesn't have an excess amount of cash and that increased price will impact more people than it won't. I don't think an $80 price tag for video games is economically sustainable and will ultimately lead to less revenue than if they'd kept the $69 price tag.

The average gamer simply can't afford that or will refuse to pay off of principle unless it's a MUST have. They'll either abandon the hobby completely or wait for sales.

I'm on console so its not like I have much of a choice, if I want day 1 experience. Fortunately, I am frugal and patient. I play games 18+ months from release. It served me well not dealing with bugs, patches & I get definitive editions that compile the at minimum 2 DLC material devs will farm. After PS5 it might be time for PC tho.

depends on the game gta , elder scrolls etc hell yah. thats last 5-10 years of gameplay. well worth it. I spend 80-100 on lunch
Same.

The big AAA action/RPG games with 100's of hours of gameplay are well worth the price. I spent like 15+ months on Elden Ring, probably 250 hours in Skyrim, same with Oblivion. Witcher 3, Horizon etc., also got a lot of my time and AC Shadows is doing the same thing.

Those games are worth $80. Considering Nintendo cartridges were the same price back in the day......

The issue is going to be for shyt like Madden that releases every year with no measurable improvement....and...smaller indie games, linear movie games....will people want to pay $80 for a 20-hour game? Different proposition compared to a 200-hour open world game.

:mjlol: Most people are gonna cave in, wait for a price drop, or pirate the shyt. The same old dance and song lol. I mean it’s a hobby and most people are willing to drop $$$ for their hobbies.

Petty Vandross.. fukk Yall
Ghost of Yotei already preordered :manny:
Depending on if RE9 is third person vs first person:snoop:
And if a next installment of DMC is released
Other then that, I can wait until reviews are out on a game and time passes
