Your brain has its own separate metabolism that has to be nourished. Thinking isn’t an energy-less process. Neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and adrenaline that manage our mood are large macromolecules that require a lot of energy to produce. When your body is depleted of energy, you rest. When the brain is depleted it keeps on on running, and all of those negative thoughts that you normally dismiss just go ham.

I use to have anxiety attacks real bad until I learned this, and started learning more about it. Ive been training myself to get something to eat or drink instead of dwelling on whatever I’m thinking.
Sometimes I just admit I’m feeling down like that I just take the day off. I know it’s just a mood and it will go away.
