Beanie Sigel May Have Just Quit Rapping

Did rapper Beanie Sigel quit Hip-Hop? According to singer/Washington D.C. radio personality Lil’ Mo, the Broad Street Bully has hung up his microphone.

Lil Mo broke the news on her Lil Mo Show in the Morning on WKYS 93.9 in Washington D.C.Mo said Sigel had texted her husband and confirmed he was finished with rap.

“Everybody thinks I’m playing and a lot of people are hurt behind it,” Lil Mo said Beanie Sigel told her husband. [And] he’s like he doesn’t mean to hurt anybody but at the end of the day he said…Maybe it’s a God thing. Maybe it’s a inner thing, but, yeah. I don’t know.”

The news comes on the heels of Beanie’s recent resurgence.

In May of 2015, fans of Roc-A-Fella were excited, when Jay and Beans and State Property reunited onstage at Tidal’s B-Sides concert, leading to hopes of new music between the two men.

“I thought after he performed with Jay when they had the big Tidal concert, it was sort of like be crazy after that, [but] he just doesn’t feel it anymore,” Lil Mo said.

Beanie also ended up in the middle of the feud between Meek Mill and Game.

He was eventually assaulted by a longtime family friend backstage in Philadelphia, before his performance at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Reunion concert.

Beanie’s health could also be a reason he’s retiring.

The rapper has lost his spleen and a lung, after he was shot in a drive-by shooting in January of 2015.

“A lot of people are speculating maybe because he feels that he doesn’t have the same drive as he does for as like he did back in those Roca-fella days,” Lil Mo hypothesized.

It also looks like Beanie has deleted all the posts from his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Shoulda let Jay transition him from the streets to fame. Beanie is a rare talent.. I like street rappers with who touch the soul. He was grimey but introspective.
