A lot of clownboys in here obviously know nothing about leadership, never been a team captain in anything nor understand general social dynamics.

cutler is justified in his frustration but isnt justified in his display of it.

Is that concept so hard to grasp? There is a time and a place for any and every type of personal expression when you are a leader, but only true leaders are proficient in picking the right time and place and correct manner of expression towards the criticizee or group they are addressing.

Cutler is not close to proficient in this based on pretty much all pieces of evidence. Taking into account his inconsistent performance and u have a qb that will never get u over the top. Just painstakingly close to it followed by epic collapse.
good post. especially the bolded. cutler is right to get mad but also remember that is 7th round LT. he should get at management for not putting in a better player. not at his teammate who also will be protecting him the next game.

most 7th rounders get cut or sent to the PS before the season...

shyt if players got mad at players who suck on their own team, Steven Jackson would have to commit genocide on the Rams. Barry Sanders would have to nuke the Lions. Dan Marino would have not to talk to his offense.

Cutler shouldn't have pushed the dude, but I think this whole thing is being blown out of proportion...just like his injury against green bay in the playoffs.

The O-line is going to throw his insulin in the bushes...:birdman:

But no, seriously, He seems like the type that would throw at Deion Sanders 15 times in a game, get picked off 8 times and then brag about how he would throw to his side every time because he trusts his arm.:manny:

He can shyt on his o-line, but i`m just wating for the day the o-line comes up bumping and yelling at him when he throws a horrible interception.

I`d love to see how this douche bag takes the heat.

Troy Aikman is one of the most overrated QB's in the history of the NFL, but to call his name in the same breath as Alex Smith is why people stay ragging on you.

Game manager has nothing to do with stats. It has to do with what is asked of the QB. There's nothing wrong with that. Alex Smith plays within a system that doesn't ask him to do much and he plays well within that system. We have seen him in a system where he's been asked to carry the team and win games and he struggled.

The only bragging you can really do about Alex Smith is his play in the 2 games this season and his late game heroics in the NO game in the playoffs. Last season we had an anemic offense, record breaking defense, field goal kicker and return game...but were last in 3rd down conversion and redzone efficiency. Just watch the offense last year, it was bad.

This year though, Alex's play is worthy of high praise. I still don't think he's good, but he's playing well.

Cutler has a big arm and has that gunslinger mentality. High risk, high reward. He's a douche, which is why people will dump on him (sometimes unfairly) when he fukks up. So, the guy has Martz as his OC, and gets killed behind the oline for several years. Keep in mind Cutler hasn't had the luxury of a coach telling him to check it down, take the sack or throw the ball away if a play is not there. To me, this is what separates Cutler from Alex. Harbs is the best thing to happen to Alex. He literally has Alex only throwing the ball if he's certain it will be completed. I don't know a QB in this league that does this...so much of Alex's success I'd put on the shoulders of Harbs.

That said, Cutler is a good QB but needs to be paired with the right OC that will beat that gunslinger mentality out of him. He also needs a line.

It is type odd though to see the same dudes who have made excuses for Alex's horrific play over 6 years... trash Cutler for the same shyt (no receivers, no O-line, horrible coaching). Some dudes like to talk on both sides of their mouths.

I think you're minimalizing alex's contributions last year. You forget about hia games against Philly, Det, and the Giants in the regular season last year. Not saying he's great but u need to admit that dude is actually a good qb now.

That dude fukking hates Alex Smith.

What kinda 49ers fan sticks up for Jay Cutler over Alex after what we've seen in the last 20 games, games in which we needed Alex to win those games and he came through damn near every time (Philly, Detrot 1 & 2, New Orleans, GB, NYG in the regular season, NYG in the playoffs to a degree)

I know he hates him, he's said it before without saying it. I mean it's his opinion of course but alex isnt as bad as he makes him out to be.

I don't know why ESPN Chicago is so worried abt Cutler's leadership. Their city NEEDS to brace itself for this STL ass whipping that is comin' up.

The Rams will beat the Bears until they bleed. The Rams are HUGE, & they play dirty.
