i can rock with them for a couple of songs at a time but i can't really listen to a whole album. Check Your Head is supposed to be a great album but i can't listen to it front to back.

Paul's Boutique to me as I had said throughout the years is the best produced rap album of all time with Only Built and nikkaz4Life a close 2nd or 3rd. The Dust Brothers put an album that can not be done no more due to sample clearance. I still pump it hard and them moving to Cali to do the album pretty much boosted their career to new heights. Best produced rap album period to me.

I don't think they were the best rappers but production was always on point. The video for Sabotage is also classic.

i wish albums like 3 Feet High & Rising, It Takes A Nation, Efil4zaggin, Paul's Boutique could still be made. talk about fukking creativity! some of these SONGS had something like 10 samples in one song! yeah we had loops back then but we also had cats like Pete Rock taking a bassline from one song, drums from 2 or 3 songs, horns from one place, something else from another song, put it all together then lay the scratches for the chorus - there's another 2-3 songs, and you gotta be smart enough to pitch the basslines and all that to make it match

glad to see this get upped. one of my favorite groups. pauls boutique, license, check your head, ill communication and hello nasty are all great albums. one of those groups that made some of the illest albums but gets looked at as more of a novelty act now, same with cypress hill.
