Beat Makers How do you put sample chops to play smoothly?

I been trying to recreate Devil In A New Dress (Ye/Bink) and Sorry/I’ll Do Anything (Ginuwine/Timbaland).

They don’t transition into each other smoothly, are you supposed to add some effect or is it better to record playing them from the pads?

LIKE A WIND UP SOUND FOR EXAMPLE

IT STARTS AT THE END OF THE FIRST SAMPLE AND DRAGS INTO THE BEGINNING OF THE SECOND

YOU CAN DO IT WIT OTHER SOUNDS AS WELL, AS LONG AS THE SOUND IS LONG ENOUGH

DUNO IF YOULL SEE IT IN TUTORIALS, I FOUND THIS METHOD ON MY OWN .. IM SURE OTHER PRODUCERS USE IT THO

and you’re sampling from the same Stevie Wonder song for I’ll Do Anything? are you familiar with time signatures?

it seems like a straight loop of about 4 seconds that you can do with audio editing software. let me fire up sound forge..

technically, you're supposed to chop at '0 frequency signals', where the waveform is 0, aka, there's no line.

But if the chops are weird, you can add transient effects, either a reverb at the end of one, or a pre-delay at the start of another, and those will blend the two chops together.

But it sounds like you might just have a software problem


I use the fruity slicer, which I think has microsecond tuning or something, so I don't necessarily use the same technique as ^^^ , but it's the same idea basically

I make sure I chop my slices on beat even if I chop it down to a 4th of a bar.

Pitch the sample down some. add more chop points & repeat them in certain places. Looping is kinda lazy unless it’s come rare shyt.

A lot of techniques you can use. You can add attack and release to the chops to make them smoother.
