you do realize quite a few nations have this right? you do realize their education systems are much better than the US'. like a lot better. dont for a minute think our capitalistic way to do everything is the best for every single thing. it isnt.

its good for some things and horrible for others.

and for the record just because college is free doesnt mean everyone is going to go. it doesnt work that way. and by the way its not just regular college. its also free trade school.thats apart of the plan as well.

Do any of these countries you're talking about have a population of over 300 million people?

And capitalism isn't perfect but its shown time and time again that the voluntary exchange of goods and services for an agreed upon currency is the best and most humane system for human beings.

Socialism/ Communism won't be feasible until we have the technology to replicate everything we want and need. And even then it won't be because millions of diverse people will suddenly learn how to cooperate and give selflessly, itll be because people won't even have to interact with other people to get the things they need. Itll be a completely segregated, isolationist utopia

Tell that to those European countries that America trades with. If you hate progressive policies that much, just wage war against every first-world country since you hate socialism.

And Tell your beloved rich people to pay their fair share of taxes. They pay historically low rates and turning America into a 3rd world country.

Stop trying to make fetch happen. Socialism has never and will never work.

If you're a small homogeneous country with a population under 10 million people and a booming oil trade you can have a big welfare system tho

I think there are a few things going on with the black vote in the caucuses. Black voters have an indirect attachment to Biden due to him being the VP to Obama which, is not a revelation to anyone. I also think that many of those black voters have been caught up in the propaganda of how "electable" Joe Biden is compared to Bernie Sanders. Some of this is low information but it's not exclusive to blacks because if you listen to interviews of Democratic voters in general, many non-blacks especially whites express this same sentiment. This causes an electorate to lose focus on actual policy and parrot the narrative we have all heard by now of, "we have to get Trump out of office."

Irami presented the point that when you look at it from the eyes of an elderly black person who lived partly prior to civil rights and post civil rights, they understand that much was promised but not much was gained. They are most likely looking at the situation as "we aren't going to get anything out of this anyway but we know for sure that if Trump is in office things will turn for the worse" (lesser of two evils if you will). He also brought up the point that we have to "see" government working for us in order to trust someone saying they are going to continue that work or further it such as Sanders would. When you pair that with what was stated earlier about what elderly black voters have "seen" government do for them and you get this kind of backwards politics.

Lastly I'll say that a lot of this falls on us to inform our parents and grandparents about these issues and why we can't just keep practicing politics the way we have been. We have to try and convince as many black folks as possible that we can make demands and use or vote as leverage (as we don't have anything else at this point). We can't practice melanin politics anymore, it is an utter failure. We have to be a policy oriented group and fight hard to get policy that favors our group and repairs the damage that government has done to us.

I rather be in a room full of black Democrats than the only black in a room full of Bernie Bros :mjpls: Secondly, most Black people are conservative. The far left liberal nonsense don’t fly with us. We don’t want the world to burn down. We just want improvements. Your black relatives don’t care about the rights of illegal immigrants, the Me Too movement or if trannys can use bathrooms with little girls. And lastly, black people just STARTED to make waves in terms of economic empowerment. Our great-great grandparents were slaves. Our great grandparents and grandparents lived under Jim Crow. Our parents lived under systemic racism and inequality. Our generation has our share of issues but, there are more opportunities for us than our predecessors had. We had a black president. Several black billionaires and millionaires. Black artists, celebrities and entertainers being paid their worth. More black businesses employing Black people around the country. Growing black middle class. More black people going to college. We just got started basically. Coincidentally, the same time our opportunities began to widen is the same time white males got angry about their lives :jbhmm: When Bernie is railing against the elite I wonder if he’s including Oprah, Jay-Z, Diddy, Tyler Perry, Denzel, Will Smith, Robert F. Smith and others in his attacks :jbhmm: None of those people stole money from anybody and they built everything from the mud. He sounds silly attacking them. Successful Black people are not the elite. They haven’t stolen wealth from the middle class. Black people were slaves and second class citizens for the last 400 years. We weren’t getting shyt. Rich whites were living nice :martin: White people enjoyed that success :martin: Now things are starting to become more equal (there’s still inequality but it’s leveling out), and he wants to destroy the system. Where was Medicare For All in the 1950s? Where was Free College during Jim Crow? Where was drug decriminalization during the crack era? They didn’t want it because they were successful enjoying their happy white lives. They didn’t care because only we were fukked up back then. Obviously, free college and free healthcare are needed in this country but, I rather pass it through another candidate. I can’t help but feel that Bernie is the candidate for entitled, slightly less racist but still racist angry white males. I have nothing in common with them cacs.

This is nauseating. This is a different election. It’s more about who can defeat trump. Biden has a better shot. Both candidates suck. I don’t know why people slob over Bernie. He completely fumbled at the goal line. He might be a good foot soldier but not the right person to lead a country.

Biden is more electable. That is it. It also didn’t help that he was putting illegals on the same level as blacks. Lumping blacks with POC.

Above the fray.
bolded response

I will concede that most of it was through social media. But as a new yorker there is some truth to it. As an ados from washington dc there is some truth to it. And even some houston Ados members point out the truth to this

What challenged me was the fact that aframs being distinctively afram in cultural orientation was divisive within itself. Alot of people saw this and went through

I have enough intellectual respect, maybe too much in this respect, to think that blacks who both- go through the channels of being immigrants and being black. Would have enough self awareness to know that their circumstance was largely shaped by ADOS as it pertains to the west and America. YOU CANT LEAVE ALL BLACK COUNTRIES WITHOUT KNOWING THIS FISRT ?.And if you did than what does that say about your potential partnership? If this is absent than what do aframs have left pertaining to non ados blacks.

Theres no way you should come to this country as a black anything and think this. Subsequently a culture that has been here for four hundred years cant afford time to teach you this when you should know this yourself coming into the west

@Get These Nets
1.If you want, I can point out the lies that were debunked, and how they kept popping back up over and over. The fact that these were easily refuted notions lead me to believe that yters were exploiting young and naive followers. Or people who wanted to believe these things to justify their feeling about Black immigrants.

2. The willingness and eagerness to believe and repeat things that weren't true is where it went from looking out for self interests to something else. Fearmongering and manipulation. The threads are still up. If people were too swept up in emotion to see it then, surely they can see it now.

3. & 4.
Not sure how genuine this post is. By now I'm sure you are aware of which posters here identify as AA. Look through some of the regional war threads and see how many of those members buy into stereotypes about their fellow AAs who live in different parts of the country. Read the recent threads after the SC primary and see the rehashing of the same old stereotypes about the South.
Hell, look no further than THIS thread, which is based on the premise of stereotypes about older Black southerners .
Again, by now I'm sure you know who is who. Go back and read those posts, and come back here and tell me about how Black immigrants should know better.
You're in the BX, right? All the church goers are in service right now. Let's say I stood on the four corners of your block, right now and only stopped AAs under 30. I asked them general questions about AA history/struggle/rights. Your life was on the line and based on how much they knew about their own history. On a scale of 1-10.......10 being the highest, how confident would you be that you would survive? This is YOUR block.
I want to hear your answer to this.

The point is that the same white controlled propaganda machine that programs people here exists when American culture is exported overseas. I halfway cringe when people brag and flag wave about singing and dancing, because I know that's the main lens that the media gatekeepers love to show Black people in globally.

I'm not happy with Biden pulling ahead so hard but this ish is wrong.
I know a few older people who like what Bernie is pushing, but would vote for Biden over Bernie simply because they feel Bernie is severely unrealistic with his goals, and have no faith that the other branches would support his initiatives, or at least step aside to pass them.
They vote on pragmatism rather than idealism, and it makes sense considering the world they've seen.

I don't agree that Biden =Obama is all it was. A lot of older people do absolutely nothing but digest political news, day in and day out.

Take the political realities they've seen over their longer lifespans, and it comes down to a mistrust of cacs doing something that would benefit EVERYONE, so they ignore the pie in the sky candidate for the realistic option.
Don't disrespect the elders for it.
This is exactly where my mom is with this whole thing...like exactly. And since you can articulately sum up this sentiment, that tells me you are speaking facts.

I read that article and the complete lack of awareness of how bernie Bros are treated vs the way the hardcore trump maga supporters were treated by the media made it feel like partisan garbage.

If you're going to define one candidate by it's worst supporters you gotta do the same for all of them
Bernie bros is about as fake as the Obama boys both of which were created by the Clinton adminstration.

And they went right back to "socialism" after his one term.
We already got socialism in this country and Bernie's Democratic Socialism is Social Democracy which is still, despite the name, Capitalism.
