Perhaps its an unfortunate part of human psychology. The same reason the "Popular kids" in highschool were usually the ones who were mean to others. People want to be part of that in group and feel "I'm cool enough for them not to hate me or treat me bad". You ever see someone who is a supposed "friend" of someone else but that person treats them like shyt and tolerates them while the low-esteem person sticks around because they like the inclusion in the in group even while being low key demised.While I pretty much agree with everything said in this thread I'd like to see your interactions with white people in real life. I have never in my life seen black people have the same physical disdain for white folks as they have for us. As a people we will speak to a white person before we speak to each other. I go out of my way to greet black people at work and most times get a grunt or silence. How are we supposed to build as a community when we don't even speak to each other?White people have long laid out their disgust for us out in the open, all forms of white people, and yet we will work to appease them in the public eye. This behavior would be less disheartening if we treated each other better but we hate each other. The divide between black men/women exemplifies this. Yet you have us putting white people on pedestals and promoting interracial relationships as the best thing since sliced bread with nothing but passion and prosperity. All of this we eat up as at the same time white people are telling us "We as a people HATE you."
This may be the same phenomenon with a racial component. A lot of blacks in america are that 'friend' with low self-esteem about their identity being a black person in a sea of non-blacks.
