The award is called "Album of the Year" not "Best Catalogue". And Beyonce's album was not only more commercially successful but also on par if not better received critically.

Yes Beck has sold about 20 Million worldwide. But that's lowend for a rock star that's released over 15+ albums over 30 years. He's always kinda flown under the radar until the 90's after he blew with "Loser". In the 2000's he was releasing stuff but not as popular as his 90's material. He's barely had any mainstream hits outside of "Loser". Was this a "Legacy" grammy? Yes. Beck is 30 years deep. KanYe is right about the Album of the Year and Black Artist. It's clear. But again he can't fix his mouth and question Beck "Artsry" This is a man that writes and producers a lot of his own work and plays multiple instruments. It's not like this some fluff pop rock star that gets a ton of press. Beck is very under the radar. So I can't give Ye this one. By with Prince up there, everything was lined up for Beyonce to take it home. They did her dirty clearly. They did. But it's not like Beck is some manufactured aritst. I understand KanYe's beef, I get it. His beef is about Album of the Year and how not many Black Artist win it.
