Become a cop or a gym teacher?

That's strictly dependent on where you live. Certain areas all you need is a HS diploma. I went to school with a guy who followed in his fathers footsteps and went directly into the police academy after high school graduation. Maybe recently the standards were upped, but it's been the equivalent of a joe schmo job and entirely too easy for random knuckleheads to get into.

Thats based off legacy. You get special perks and advancements for having a parent or next of kin involved in law enforcement. and thats according to the book.

But at least for New York, Atlanta, Miami, Baltimore, Long Island PD, and a few others, theres an education bar.

10 years ago it wasnt like that you right these are modern rules. But I dont doubt probably smaller towns/cities the bar is lower.

Id rather be a cop, yes its high stress, and you deal directly with the vermin all the time, but once you past the rookie stage youd never have a boring day. (as a rookie they throw you to all the bullshyt posts and do dumb shyt and lame calls).

Being a cop in canada is the wages , can easily cross 100k in your first year working overtime

but yeah i know in Montreal I could become one easily since im black, but I need a BA or 30 university credits with a cegep diploma.
thinking about the RCMP too(just that they might ship my ass in some unknown place which would have think long and hard about that since they pay WAYYYY more than a montreal cop)

Only thing is if I become a gym teacher I could easily move to the US by getting a job there too....

Thats more like 2nd/3rd year. I watched nikkas in them hoods literally strongarm officers out their way. You cant have no hair on your chest doing anything serious over there.

As a 1st yr rookie theyll make you stand on a corner (yea in undesirable area) for your 12 hour shift, as a presence of authority not doing anything but standing there with your hands in your pockets for 12 hours. Theyd make you do things like stand in the subway station waiting for people hopping turnstyles. And you get no patrol car, you on foot.

But when you bout 3+ years deep thats when it starts to get a bit sweet. you could either seek the promotion to detective, get a better post like in times sq looking at titties, or stay with the exciting (but stressful) logistics of the hood.

The benefits are killer too. For example be 15 years deep and youd be earning close to 6 figures, and should you retire then, youd be getting sent a $75,000 pension every year until the day you die

Unless you know somebody in high places, if you took the test today, you wouldnt get a call for an interview until summer 2016. Thats how slow things work. If you want to, take the test now, if later on you decide another path all you have to do is say youre not interested anymore. Dont wait until youre sure, cause you goin have to wait regardless. So set up that option now.

breh you get an immigrant visa, get a residence in the US, get your resident alien card (green card), then study and take the citizenship test.

Or you can just stay in Canada

Id rather be a cop though. Being a gym teacher is weak, id rather be in law enforcement

Depends on your interests tho. I personally would love to be a detective. but I dont want to do patrol for like 5+ years to get there

Could have saved your money and not went to college if you wanted to be a cop. May be different educational requirements in Canada but if not, what was even the point?


That said, I have no interest in law enforcement. I don't have a God complex, I'm not fond of the prospect of engaging in shootouts and quite frankly, the job doesn't pay enough. I'd sooner coach middle school basketball for 38K a year before I picked up a badge for 60K.

Yeah cops have shytty ass pays, and the worst thing is recently they changed their requirements, you need to have a bachelors to quality
