why is the bar for 'authenticity' set so high for the white rapper though?
... in riff raff's case basically the only thing separating him from being a modern day minstrel act is whether or not he goes home and washes off the symbolic blackface at night...it appears that he once he created the character, he fine tuned it over the years and fully committed to it so he's kinda like Scott Hall running around being Razor Ramon full time, even when he's off the clock...so at least there aren't any half measures here, he's all in
All things considered (hip hop's obsession with "authenticity" and "realness" for all rappers of any background), don't really think it's all that high at all...whatever distinctions there are from the general "is he keeping it real though" standards, are born from white america's history of raping and appropriating elements of black american culture throughout the centuries...don't really think "are you deliberately appropriating or making a mockery of black people" is all that high of a bar... in riff raff's case basically the only thing separating him from being a modern day minstrel act is whether or not he goes home and washes off the symbolic blackface at night...it appears that he once he created the character, he fine tuned it over the years and fully committed to it so he's kinda like Scott Hall running around being Razor Ramon full time, even when he's off the clock...so at least there aren't any half measures here, he's all in

basically Riff the gawd aint from the hood at all. BUT unlike these other culture stealers he decided to move to the hood, hang with exclusively black people, and immerse himself in the culture.
he's not like miley cyrus where he's gonna run to his white family when shyt doesn't pop. he's gonna stay doing this ignorant shyt for life.
Bruh if you in ya 20s and the first rapper you heard was dmx then you dont belong in this rap shytBruh he was born in 1990...you saying DMX wasn't around in the 90s? I'm from Cleveland I think I would know more than you do.
