this might sound crazy but it might be better to volunteer to get on child support
that way you can file for joint/partial custody the same day and get her address and see what the living conditions are like in the crib
if you work part time your payments might not even be that much
i don't know what state you in , but in my state if you just start paying child support they get you on RETROACTIVE child support unless you have receipts for all the money you been giving. so it's possible that you get took for child support when the kid is 5 yrs old and you have to pay 5 yrs of back child support broken down as an arrears adjustment.
talk to a family lawyer or maybe someone you can trust who currently pays child support in your state
edit: just saw your kid is in the double digits, i'm thinking it's a baby or something. don't your kid have a cell phone or know how to use a phone? why can't they just tell you where they live?
