Nas is a great rapper and will always be but he was and never will be the superstar that big and PAC was at their peaks. Op said nas, big and PAC was running shyt but nas wasn't on that level of fame. If u add nas to that list u have 2 add a lot more nikkas because it was a lot of nikkas as big as nas at that time. And u don't have 2 try to explain it to me I was alive during that time. Seen it for myself

That's irrelevant, all I'm saying is that Nas was tier-2.
Jay-z was a dope rapper but not tremendously successful commercially. Labels didn't even wanna fukk with him until he moved gold with a classic and started selling out venues all over te Tru-state area.
So yes there was a time where Jay wasn't a commercial superstar just like for every single top rapper.. The problem is only that if Jay was Cease cause he didn't move millions with his first know album. What does that make Nas today? Bleek? No fukktards. Was Pac Spliff Star when Cube, Dre, Vanilla Ice, PE, Mc Hammer, Beastie Boys and Snoop were dominating the game? Or was he just on the rise?
I've got to edit my statement about the only difference between 2000s rap and 90s rap is that the music was better in the 90s. The fans couldn't possibly have been dumber in the 90s.
