Before you go see American Sniper, read this small excerpt from his book.

"He and another sniper traveled to New Orleans, set up on top of the Superdome, and proceed to shoot dozens of armed residents who were contributing to the chaos.” The magazine said one conversation participant said Kyle “claimed to have shot thirty men on his own,” while another said Kyle and the other killed 30 between them

"I only wish I had killed more."

Can you still go see this trash in good conscious? :sas2:

Here is some complementary reading to go along with this if you have some time.

nice excerpt to get started
The way Donnell Herrington tells it, there was no warning. One second he was trudging through the heat. The next he was lying prostrate on the pavement, his life spilling out of a hole in his throat, his body racked with pain, his vision blurred and distorted.

It was September 1, 2005, some three days after Hurricane Katrina crashed into New Orleans, and somebody had just blasted Herrington, who is African-American, with a shotgun. "I just hit the ground. I didn't even know what happened," recalls Herrington, a burly 32-year-old with a soft drawl.

The sudden eruption of gunfire horrified Herrington's companions--his cousin Marcel Alexander, then 17, and friend Chris Collins, then 18, who are also black. "I looked at Donnell and he had this big old hole in his neck," Alexander recalls. "I tried to help him up, and they started shooting again." Herrington says he was staggering to his feet when a second shotgun blast struck him from behind; the spray of lead pellets also caught Collins and Alexander. The buckshot peppered Alexander's back, arm and buttocks.

Herrington shouted at the other men to run and turned to face his attackers: three armed white males. Herrington says he hadn't even seen the men or their weapons before the shooting began. As Alexander and Collins fled, Herrington ran in the opposite direction, his hand pressed to the bleeding wound on his throat. Behind him, he says, the gunmen yelled, "Get him! Get that ******!"

P.S. I think his story is bullshyt and others have said as much. However it definitely shows the type of person he was that he felt it was an "entertaining" tall tell. Especially since there really was a bunch of white thugs roaming the streets shooting innocent black folks and are still not in jail for it.

I doubt he is going to be setting up on top of the super-dome with the national guard around and 1000 or so people around.

Glad he is dead though :blessed: and I hope he is burning in hell if there is one.

I duno if that shyt is true, but tons of evidence that show this dude aint worth making a movie over and isn't a good guy. Since Bradley Cooper and Clint Eastwood were involved in this that shyt is swept under the rug plus the dude is dead so they don't want to stir it up. All these war hereo stories are always fake word to Pat Tillman.

Alright.....let's see some evidence before my pressure go up.
The story is 99% likely to be bullshyt. However...what does it tell you about the dude who thinks this is something to think on fondly?

As a black man, can you feel good watching this hollywood deification of what was more likely some psychotic racist redneck?

The Truth
Katrina has some bizarre and sinister stories that came out of it, that a lot of people wouldn't believe.

There were rogue policeman that have been convicted of shooting Black men left and right. The storm itself and the surrounding news stories masked the race riot that took place during the whole ordeal.....:sas2:

Also those dams were blew up on purpose, where it flooded only mostly the Black part of the city, but of course you'll never hear that.

Mannn fukk this guy and fukk the movie. I saw the movie twice for free (of course) and tried to be objective in my viewing. The movie itself is hot garbage first of all. At first I was like are they clowning this dude, is this a parody of the American white soldier?:dahell:

From having a stereotypical strict Christian father to watching something on the news, causing him to enlist?

The terrible dialogue? The way he met his future wife? The way he acts with the Iraqis?

This movie should not have been nominated for best picture, but I will say Bradley did a good job with what he had to work with.

Since I saw the movie, I have seen reviews which state the book is entirely different from the movie.

In the book, he is like "I wish I could kill anyone carrying a Koran", while in the movie it plays out different.

So in conclusion, :pacspit::pacspit::pacspit: this movie.

Reading about this made me think about something Malcolm X said regarding America glorifying its killers. I think this is it.

Excerpt from Malcom X speech at the Oxford Union, December 1964
I’m not for extremism in defense of that kind of liberty, or that kind of activity. They take this man, who’s a murderer, and the world recognizes his as a murderer, but they make him the prime minister, he becomes a paid murderer, a paid killer, who is propped up by american dollars. And to show the degree to which he is a paid killer the first thing he does is go to South Africa and hire more killers and bring them into the Congo. They give them the glorious name of mercenary, which means a hired killer, not someone that is killing for some kind of patriotism or some kind of ideal, but a man who is a paid killer, a hired killer. And one of the leaders of them is right from this country here, and he’s glorified as a soldier of fortune when he’s shooting down little black women, and black babies, and black children. I’m not for that kind of extremism, I’m for the kind of extremism that those who are being destroyed by those bombs and destroyed by those hired killers, are able to put forth to thwart it. They will risk their lives at any cost, they will sacrifice their lives at any cost, against that kind of criminal activity. I am for the kind of extremism that the freedom fighters in the Stanleyville regime are able to display against these hired killers, who are actually using some of my tax dollars which I have to pay up in the united states, to finance that operation over there. We’re not for that kind of extremism.
