I swear I hate this this shyt

Its fukked up because being depressed, its a moment where all your resilience, your mental strength, the positive strides you've taken, don't mean a damn thing.

In that moment, you have no power over the situation:francis:

Ive experienced 2-3 such moments in the last month. Every time its like a tsunami hits, and it don't matter if this time my house sitting on a couple stilts.

Failure feels cumulative, like its part of an overriding narrative

Anyone know what Im describing?

How do you cope with those moments of anxiety, fear, hopelessness and even vulnerability?

How do you face it in the moment? And how do you recover afterwards?

I take my depressive episodes in a different direction than most. This is gonna sound weird but just go with it.

So if you have depression, people will just tell you to "Do some things that you love" or some other not-helpful shyt.

And anyone who has been depressed can tell you... there is no "helpful" shyt that anyone can say or do to help you get through it (therapy and medication works for some). You just gotta get through it.

So what I've decided to do during these depressive episodes, is instead of doing the shyt I love, I do all the shyt I hate. Like that colonoscopy you've been putting off? fukk it, your day is gonna suck anyway, may as well knock this out of the way so that when your depression eventually passes, you get to look up and be like, "Hey I'm not depressed anymore AND I don't have to dread that colonoscopy." Dental work, paying off large chunks of debt, cardio... Your day is gonna suck ass anyway, so may as well stuff it with positive shyt that you already hate to do.

You just mid-key, inadvertently created a new movemente and uoeno it.

Sad Boys, we in it!
If we hurt, my diss while hurt in unison .

this could be very therapeutic and meditatively/soulfully unwinding, if we can collectively share our internal struggles, this can surely be a pathway to Neosporin-ing our traumas, struggles and inadequacies.

Just saying, albeit with modest delaying (cuz i didnt see this thread until today)...

I couldn't help but notice your pain. (Your pain?) Yes, it runs deep... SHARE IT TO A BREH!!!

I like the logic.

If you're already having a bad day, might as well go balls deep with it and get everything out the way all at once.

Exactly.

I think of depression as an emotion that blocks all other emotions. Happiness, thrill, excitement, contentment, peace, etc....

However! It also blocks undesirable emotions; anxiety, fear, doubt...

If all I can feel is the "fukk this" fog of depression, then yeah, I'm gonna knock out some shyt that would normally make me feel emotions that I don't wanna feel.

May as well. :yeshrug:

I've learned to embrace the suck. Once we do that, everything else becomes trivial. But this requires you to somewhat kill your ego. Most ppl can't do this and I still struggle. Western society encourages us to constantly feed our egos. See social media for an example.
