This statement sounds the way Marlo thinks therefore only a "real nikka" or basically a nikka who thinks like a tard would identify with it.....
David Simon always said Marlo thought leaving the game (with 10 million dollars after selling the connect) and no longer being the man in the drug game was "a fate worse than death". [That was his exact statement] For him "wearing the crown" and "being the man" was more important than the the risk of being dead or in jail. He accepted those 2 realities more than he accepted being out the game with 10 million dollars and the freedom to invest and do whatever he wanted. As long as he had the name like Avon Barkdales and the nikka who ran West Baltimore that's all that mattered to him. Being "the man" in a certain area is all that matters to certain nikkas.......Like Cam said in Paid in Full, "half these nikkas want to be the man just cause"......
Basically that's what the thread starter and saying and from that perspective he's right. Kobe was never going to be looked at as the man unless he won those 2 chips without Shaq. Wade to a lesser extent will have his legacy questioned since he's Lebron's sidekick. Since he won his first one on his own it's not as big of a deal......but still from the hood, real nikka perspective being number 2 even if you're winning and making a lot of money doing it is a "fate worse than death." It's good that life isn't measured in that stupid ass perspective.
