Being a producer back when albums sold and everyone listened to radio had to be best$$$$

Having access to making beats before everyone else made it super easy too. Anyone could've made it back then

Making beats is easy. Anyone can do it if they have the programs. But back then only a select few did. Now everyone does so its harder to get noticed.

Look at Scott storch dude made 10 figures making beats back in the day. You know he regrets blowing his money now that's its harder for beats to get attention since everyone does it. And they don't make as much money anymore

Yep. Pharrell, I believe, said he sells his tracks (really are advances on the sales of the record and album) for $20k. Guys on the top end we're getting $100k to $250k per track. If a breh gets $5k for a track, then he arrived.

Not everyone could be a producer. I've been producing for almost 20 years.

But yeah, back then even no name producers were making bank.

Anyone can be a producer breh. That's why I know people who start making beats and after one month their beats sound no different than the top beats doing numbers

Producing isn't just composing the music (making the beat). You have to make records that a bunch of paying people would listen to.

If it is so easy I assume you are doing it? Sell cheap and maintain your producer credit for royalties off all the easy to make hits and you will be making cake breh. Do you have a link to your SoundCloud?

I remember there was rumors Nas and the Clipse both brought million dollar beats off the Neptune's years ago too.
Nas confirmed this to be a rumor. Can;t find the interview at the moment but he also said that him and Pharell were contemplating collaborating on a track and telling people it was the million dollar beat lol

It wouldn't surprise me one bit tho if there have been tracks sold for that much back in the day

It was a rumour started by a poster on the old nas forum.

We get what you're saying...yet Scott Storch is literally the worst example you could have used.

Storch can actually play instruments, real well, that's his thing.....wouldn't surprise me if he gets back on because his sound is unique.

The examples you want to use are those who sample a lot..which is what 99 percent of producers do in rap
