Pretend to act like there's no positives all you want. There's plenty of poppin rappers out right now that make thou sounds a show, and with the internet it's easier and easier to get ya music out there. Also, rap keeps getting more popular each year.:martin:

As far as the positives go: Money, bytches, adoring fans:jbhmm:

Sounds good to me:pachaha:

fukk outta here with ya militant shyt:camby:

What part of this is militant? :stopitslime:

And Bankroll Fresh was just killed last night in the studio.

Yes there are plenty of rappers doing good out here, but there are also A LOT more who record in they closet with no pot to piss in:stopitslime:

And when you're done you'll be in your 30s/40s with youngins just shyttin on your whole career

For real. The agism in hip hop means that even if you are dope, to the youth, you are trash.:mjlol:

Then again, hip hop is about energy so does anyone wanna hear Tony Yayo talk about selling drugs at his age? Or turning up? Or hear a rapper who made it now talk about his deals to buy property so his ass wont have to rap anymore in 10 yers?

Its admittedly a context sensitive genre that cannibalizes older heads who spit. The first day i hear a rhyme about he AARP card is the day I die with a smile.

Breh, rap in itself can bring a lot of negative into a person's life.

Why are you debating this?

And the lifespan is short as fukk
Lmao. There you go generalizing again. I doubt someone like Maclamor, Mac Miller or Kendrick Lamar, Drake, . bring in negativity. They look happy as shyt to me :heh:

I really shouldnt have to say this shyt so obviously you're either a cac, militant, or troll so imma be out:pachaha:

If you are unique, then your rap is a GOAT career. But too many copycat nikkas out here who is going to have a short rap career cause they want to rap in triplets and think having dreads make them more cool.

But I cant even hate if they got their money from it real quick and left. Seems like a easy thing to do in today life.

Also some people just have a passion for rap, I cant hate that either.

I find it interesting whenever I see older rappers because they are still out and performing and shyt. It's odd in a way because now they are conscious and speak about real hip hop. Is it because you are not relevant in the mainstream anymore? It's a big world with billions of people, so I'm sure if it don't work in the states you could always find a lane in Sweden.

if u a rapper of substance for example Nas, Chamillionaire, Ice Cube, Common and some others u would be able to cross over in other lanes and succeed

if u like the thousand of trash atlanta rappers ( no disrepect to the legends outkast, goodie mob, luda, t.i., killer mike ) and those trap rappers & them trash love and hip hop fukks them nikkas better hope they can flow till they 60 cause them nikkas are done when that 5 minute of fame is gone

There's no longevity in being a rapper tbh.

Rockstars can pretty much eat for life. But rappers can't because shyt gets played out quick.
Rap isn't that old of a genre, there are rappers with decades-long careers out right now.
Other than Jay Z, Nas, Diddy, Rakim, Wu-Tang Clan, Mos Def, etc. not too many artists have long careers because they end up trying to ride a wave or fad, instead of making long-lasting music.

Legends from the 90s will continue eat off of merchandise and album sells. The only rapper I think that will survive/eat is Kanye and maybe Kendrick.
