Being an introvert appreciation/unappreciation thread

After reading some of these responses,l Some of you are either anti social OR just don't know the TRUE meaning of an introvert.



And this is coming from an introvert.

It seems like people Are mistaking being an introvert with someone who is awkward, shy, hates being around people, doesn't like to talk at all, has no regard for other people,

While these are definitely traits that are common among introverts that what the word "INTROVERT" means. Introvert basically means that you get your energy from within and usually feel drained after social gatherings and need time to recharge. Extroverts are the type who feel recharged when they are around other people. They tend to like attention.

I'm an introvert, I don't like big crowds and I'm not to crazy about getting attention from others, but I can definitely talk to people and carry a conversation with others.

I was reading these comments like damn this me

I have been told you are a great person, blah blah blah, you need to speak more

For whatever reason I walk around with the all day and they expect me to walk around with a damn smile

I just do me and not let anyone dictate how I should act around others, otherwise you are trying to please others instead of yourself, go out and feel

You never see " extroverts" making topics bashing you awkward dudes that are making excuse because of the anxiety you get with social interactions

No instead we see them bashing "awkward dudes making excuses" just in regular life ...

I socialize when I feel like it, and when I don't feel like it I don't, which is why I like a messageboard setting I can find topics I'm interested in such as the greatness of Tim Duncan and interact with them when I feel.

I used to go to Sports Bars, but found it annoying that these muthafukkas would want to talk about everything but the game, while I'm just trying to eat some hot wings and enjoy it in silence. I'm like fam, I don't give a shyt about how your day was our how much you hate your boss, can't you see the exquisite post moves on the screen?

Lions are extroverts, Tigers are introvert ain't no need to say someone has a anxiety issue because they prefer not to deal with others constantly

I think I'm a lil bit of both, sometimes I go under the radar and don't feel like talking to people, while sometimes I want to hang out in groups and be loud and shxt

When I was younger I might have been considered an extrovert. I had a large group of friends, didn't mind being the center of attention (but always hated oral presentations) and always spoke my mind. As I have gotten older I pretty much stick to myself and don't have many friends at all. I hate talking on the phone about absolutely nothing and I rarely go to the home of the few friends that I do have unless its for a specific reason. If we are not going out (which I rarely do anymore) or drinking or smoking I don't just wanna hang out just to pass time. If I played video games I would want to do it by myself or online, and if I wanna watch a game I will do it by myself where there's not other people screaming in my ear. I'm pretty quiet for the most part unless its a subject that im almost 100 percent sure I am right about. Then I will argue my point till the cows come home. I rarely go to family functions just because of all the fake smiles and how you doing's that you have to do for a family member that you havent' seen or talked to in years. After hello and how and what have you been up too, what else is there really to say. I wouldn't consider myself shy, cuz I have no problem speaking when I have to, but idle chit chat bores me. Even today I was sitting in the barbershop waiting, and a dude I used to go to school with was there and decided to talk my head off. Suffice it to say, I made an excuse to go outside and smoke a cigarette until I figured he was in the chair. I tested INTJ and I think that's about right.

I’m an introvert and shy. I’m pretty terrible about building relationships with others and I’m one of those people who has to have a feel for someone before fully opening up.

I also don’t like to be around a lot of people.. just maybe a few but not a whole crowd..
