Just want to point out, you don't really have to be that good at math to get into finance.
The most advanced required math courses i took in college(accounting major) was Algebra and Geometry. Same type of math classes you took in highschool.
Hardest part for me was just keeping up to date with tax law. also the course didn't get any harder from freshman year to senior year. Seemed like we just repeated each class over and over but with more specific specializations . Accounting 101 basically teaches you everything you gonna learn in all your accounting classes. just from a more general perspective

It's not a gene. If your parents was teaching you math from the age 0-6 years old you will be good for life. But most families teaching their kids how to be entertainers or sports players :mjpls:
“good for life” and lebron level good are two different things

Chances of your kid being Lebron are slim to none. Chances of your kid being a millionaire from learning math at a young age is very possible. There has only been 4374 NBA players ever, you wanna feed you kid that pipe dream?
”chances of your kid being lebron are slim to none”, that’s my point. You said that there is no “math gene”. I’m not saying there is a singular “math gene” but I am saying that some people are just going to better than others at math, in the same way that taller people are generally better in basketball

I would be more specific and say probability and statistics. Most ppl don't need to use calculus in their lives.

This is facts. Too many people gamble against insane odds.

I'd add compound interest to the list too. If people understood the time value of money and the power of compound interest they would save and invest more, and buy less.

A minor factor in the buy vs rent debate :lolbron:
