This pay period it's about to be these cacs want me to cover 2 shifts until they hire somebody so I'm gonna eat

You know a lot of OT pay usually pushes you into a much higher tax bracket for that paycheck.
You'll get some of it back in next year's tax refund though.

Ok. If they cut you two checks, one with your regular pay and another with the OT, you'll want to take a look at the fed and state tax they take out. If they don't take out as much in your OT check, you'll want to prepare yourself for possibly paying income tax instead of getting a refund next year.

Not all OT is on 2 checks, and when it is, the taxes are fine. I'm just not getting hit as much as if it were one large check
