it's about accepting yourself at the end of the day as well as finding and accepting those people who accept you for who you are as well as respect you. Make sure you do the same for them. If you can tolerate being in your own skin and being alone where you hate your own company, you already won.

In this context and any other with concerns about being black my view is simplistic if you physically/sexually have a preference for black people then you will always be drawn to black people life and love happens you may date or even marry someone who is not black but will always be drawn to our community and this preference shows in essence you love yourself and the men/women that you resemble more than any other group of people on earth so you may be weird/different but not trying to be someone other than you are now if you don't have a preference for black folks and being emerged in the culture of your preference as understanding as I am besides the most understandable scenario of being raised in the culture of the people you are attracted to anything else would you wanting to be part other that culture by choice and loving everything it has to offer more than any other so if given the choice of somehow miraculously resembling the people of that culture I would believe the person would take it MY LONG AS RANT WITH NO PUNCTUATION

I think that was the whole point of the posted article. The writer was saying a previous article by another author and the movie DOPE relied on the narrative that there has to be a binary option of "white people shyt"/"black people shyt" and that whoever likes both is "special". Instead of realizing that viewing anime or whatever is shyt people of all races do and that its kinda problematic breaking black people shyt down into negative stereotypes like doing drugs, jail, thuggin, etc.
