I was a kid into nerdy shyt in middle school and nikkas never picked on me in my hood.

Now I did have to check a few nikkas over basketball and cat calling my mama .
Right? The kids who were "ostracized" just weren't interested in socializing with anyone.

I went to a 99% black high school in Flatbush, Brooklyn with a history of being a bad school.

The most popular kid in school was this African dude who was smart as hell, spoke "proper" English, and was into anime.

In middle school I made up and ran my own pen and paper RPG. Everyone loved it. They just enjoyed my company and wanted to have fun.

I used to argue about anime with active gang members.

The same "hood bytches" that everyone hates are in my timeline are doing and talking about all kinds of weird and nerd shyt.

They were all accepted because they were simply cool people who knew how to have decent conversation.

Yup its the funny dicotomy of being black. Most people from the hood are chill unique and are into other shyt and generally dont give a fukk

It be black people not from those enviroments who feel like they have to live up to a perceived stereotype pushed thru the media

Some of the most gangsta nikkas I know be into different shyt like karate and anime. I know hoodboogers who are obsessed with cartoon shows like Avatar the last airbender and shyt :pachaha:

I'm a grown ass man
People talking about being teased in highschool or middleschool is some lame shyt.

Same people talking about me being into white shyt (Anime, Videogames other than 2K and Dat Madden :comeon:, Classical Music etc.) were the same
people giving me dap for tearing down a cypher  (some) of those people also grow out of that.
Children say stupid shyt and those same kids become adults. Those adults will look back on you and like
your statuses on facebook when they see you make it.

I know people still selling dimes and nickles who fukked off their late teens and early adulthood who might've
made fun of my interests, now tell me "You're doing it bro bro!".

With that said, there are BLACK PEOPLE who AGREE with the people who TEASE THEM and actively
seek to ALIGN THEMSELVES with WHITE people. No one wants to talk about that side, it gets weird and ugly.

White cultural fetishism is just as lame as accepting the product being sold to you by fukking B.E.T. as "Black Culture".

This was me in HS. Be witty and no one cares what you're into.

Also what pen and paper system were you running?

Blavity — one of my favorite blogs — recently ran an article titled, “To All My Weird Black Girls.”

Almost stopped reading

“Weird” is subjective, but a lot of these kind of black people are simply nerds who aren’t attractive, and have bad social skills. White people who like anime and cosplay aren’t exactly the most popular people in their circles either. The black nerds aren’t usually friends with other nerds, so to say that black people don’t like her just because of her interests sound like a cop out to hang with white people, and by white people, I mean white nerds. So it appears they accept her more. When was the last time you saw an attractive and charismatic black person hanging out with white nerds?

Are white nerds winning Homecoming Queen?

I rest my case.

To act like "white boy shyt" wasn't a derogatory term used for black people who liked things that black people didn't traditionally like, is a lie.

But are they seeking out the company of other black people whomlike the same things?
If they are growing up around a majority of blacks who tell them they are into white boy shyt, the idea of black people being in to "non-traditionally" black things doesn't even cross their mind.

The ironic thing is, it's other black people who are telling them that black people don't like what they like.

Why would they then be inspired to find other black people with similar hobbies when it was black people telling them only white people like those hobbies in the first place?
