Bell's hop slam Double IPA

Went to the store today, and it's that time of year again.

Bell's HopSlam is back. Double IPA. 10% ABV. Pure hoppy deliciousness.

My local shop got 30 cases two days ago ... they're down to like 12.

I just picked up a sixer - twenty fukking dollars.


Cracked one open as soon as i got home.

Worth every penny.

They have ruined my pallet for pretty much every other kind of beer though which is okay because I don't drink too much beer anymore.

IPAs are good. Laguna is good one. The little cheap-o-brand Rasco's isn't bad either.

I just drink those high lifes now. I used to be into all those Microbrews or whatever. It's expensive for no reason.

My father in law drinks busch light. Fine with me.

My go-to is Guinness. Cases of pint cans for $25 at sams (I fukking hate the whole walton family, but guinness is guinness).

This HopSlam is so hoppy, I don't think I could drink more than one in a sitting.

Still ridiculous, though. Better be for the price (wife was PISSED at the expenditure).

I heard this year's batch has a weird pilsner-ish taste to it. I've been putting off buying it since a lot of people are bytchin' about it.

This is the first year I've had it (my spot sells out of it in a day or two), so I can't do a year-to-year comparison.

But it doesn't have a pilsner taste to me.

hops and various citrus hints, mostly. I'm sure there are more flavors that a more refined drinker would be able to pick up.

All I taste is "good."
