even though DMX got quotables galore in this its a mute button classic.
no movie has been played more in the background in my apartment than Belly.
also, my cousin had a white Range because of this movie.
first decent whip i bought myself was on old 90's dark green Range too.

This movie was horrible but that's ok. It was a testament to how popular rap was at the time to get into theatres with this one

2 dollar matinee

i legit seen this shyt over ten times in the theater

Even with noticeable flaws the movie is still Classic
The cinematography was crazy but the only thing is that the lightning could had been brighter than it was...shyt was too dark at times. I really hate that the movie was rushed towards the end and wasn't fleshed out. Hype Williams was on top of the world around this time and could do no wrong. He should had directed more movies. Hype and Sayeed could had made a gang of dope films together

The movie is visually stunning, but as a quality movie, it's trash. There's some horrible acting, a completely incoherent plot, shytty dialog. It's a string of random scenes, very few relating to one another.
It would've worked so much better as a heist flick, or a revenge flick.

If you don't see the "message" in Belly you're pretty obtuse.

Even with it's flaws, I love this movie. Brings me back to my childhood.
I havent watched in years but im gonna set some time aside tomorrow to watch. I wonder what the official reason is we never got a real belly 2 since it seemed like everyone wanted to do it I assume dmx drug and legal issues.
Outside of that, horrible film.
