Buying jewelry is a quick way to get finessed I guarantee most these chains are not "real" or are not worth near as much as these dudes are paying for them.
I used to sell coke. I know all kind of tricks to re rock that shyt up, make it shiny, make it flaky, have a certain smell, etc... You had to damn near be an expert on coke to tell that shyt wasn't what it seemed without actually doing it.
It's the same concept with the jewelry game. These jewelers got all these tricks, secrets, hybrid diamonds (like @The HONORABLE SKJ mentioned) that will make some shyt look like more than what it is. And the rappers and entertainers, not being jewell experts, get finessed on the regular.

... Nobody is mistaking that for the real deal my guy. I know a little something about jewelry and that piece Uzi had made of a mixture of is1 and is2 diamonds and gem stones set in 10 to 14k gold most likely. It's real but you can make flawed diamond and gems shine like new money with quality setting.
I don't know about real, fake, quality etc...but I know ben baller is respected
