You call it fable and that's cool. We have ledgers and notes but after a few thousands of years back all we have is speculation, hhypothesis and fables as you mention. Science or spirituality both require a bit of faith (or belief). But to your point, if God was creating the laws and gravity and time all the things that make the earth work as we know it why would a day then be the same as we know it now? I fail to see how it (a day) being different negates the use of the fable as you put it. Genesis wasn't written at the time of creation. So perhaps if when God gave it to Moses He had to do it in away that he could comprehend. If you explain complex topics to a child(or novice) do you not break it down so that they can understand and give them more as they grow?

Even if the length of a day was different, Whats the excuse for creation being created out of sequential order?

1. Vegetation on Earth without a sun? How does that work?
2. Stars being created after Earth? Even though we know all the elements on Earth were came from dying stars?
3. Water on Earth? Where did the elements hydrogen and Oxygen come from if stars were created after the creation of the Earth?

That's not *quite* it. He believes the force we've dubbed "gravity" is a symptom of the universe maximizing entropy. Of course, his work also doesn't take into account gravitons, which are theoretical elementary particles. You may want to read up on Ahmed Farag Ali and a few other M-theorists.

Also, what has this thread devolved into? No, the Earth was not created in 7 days, no matter what someone's interpretation of the Bible may be. I thought we were past this ridiculous discussion.
