Smart move, get that money before the window closes and his 15 minutes run out.

After he drops out of the race and noone cares about him anymore at least he'll have something to show for it.

Why not? Book tour promotes his campaign really. It's a two-for-one. Think about it.

That is why it makes no sense for him to formally announce he is suspending his campaign. The book tour would fall in line with his campaign and likely give him even more opportunity for movie and radio appearances. Suspending just makes him look silly yet again.
Whoever is running Dr. Carson's campaign is an idiot.
