he's not athletic enough to do damage in open space in the NBA..
ha haa. who lied and told you that? where did you hear this from? because i know thats not what your eyes say.

STOP IT.. you see that dunk? the dude can jump off either leg and dunk with either hand with ease. ambidextrous. you see those dimes? there's only one man i know at that size with THOSE PG level hot dimes on the regular. and his name was Magic Johnson. yes after all these decades this guy is the closest thing i have ever seen to magic coming out of college. not Lamar odom, not these other guys. those guys were point forwards. but not on this guys level. this guys passing ability is that of a real life pass first point guard. and thats in the half court, full court pushing it. doesnt matter. see even bron aint making all those ridiculous bounce passes. most tall guys like bron or LO that can pass for their height and position. they usually use their height to see and pass over the top. rarely do you see them hitting people with the perfect bounce pass(not saying they never do it. just saying its not a all the time thing like it is for simmons.)

he's athletic enough at the PF spot to get by his man in the nba RIGHT NOW. let alone after nba training.

he does have a good form and has shown flashes of a good mid range game he just chooses to drive the basket or post up 90% of the time
i've known guys just like him. shoot i was like him as a youngin. never would shoot much. it wasnt because i couldnt. it was just because i didnt care about shooting. i could get by someone if i needed to or post them up if i needed to , or setup my teammates. didnt bother me one bit. i always had teammates/friends who could shoot well and loved to shoot/score. so here ya go, hot dime coming your way. then i started shooting a nice little mid range and it was deadly. then i extended it to the 3pt line. money and wet. people were like "ay...i didnt know you could shoot like that." the guys you have to worry about bricking it up at the next level are bigs that are BRICK layers at the college level. like their form is awful, their mechanics are awful. when they make their shots its never going in with a swish(meaning its darn near luck). one thing i've noticed about simmons is when he shoots when he hits, its usually a perfect swish. that means all he has to do is bottle that up. but atleast he has something to bottle up. i think another thing about him that may hinder his shooting now is that he can literally use either hand, so he may not be sure which hand is his best shooting hand. he just CHOSE to shoot with his left.

THE DUDE has a wack team. so him missing the tourney aint on him.

i mean you telling me this guy wont be a monster in the nba?

Code:

Career LSU 26 34.8 6.7 11.9 .561 6.7 11.8 .564 0.0 0.1 .333 5.9 8.7 .680 12.0 5.1 1.9 1.0 2.9 2.6 19.3

The man isnt even a known defender and he averages 1 block and 2 steals per game. that alone is enough to be a problem. let alone the rebounding, let alone the passing, let alone the fg%. stop it Coli. stop trying to sike yourself out. This dude is legit.

Something is off with his initiation, seems like he pulls the ball up from the right of his body like a righty would. I'm not a lefty but it seems like that would be a tad awkward:manny:

*random fact*

LSU has played 4 Top 25 Teams this season. In those 4 games, Ben Simmons averages 56.3% FG (8 FGA per game), 13.5 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 5.0 apg, 2.5 spg, and .5 blks.

I THINK that part of his shot is due to the fact he can literally shoot with either hand. not just can like kobe has taught himself to do it. but he actually was born able to shoot with either hand equally. for some reason he settled on the left hand. i bet if he settle on his right hand as the shooting hand his start up mechanics wouldnt look weird like it does now. but even with that. when he makes his shots. its money. that tells me even with this somewhat weird startup, he could still get to a point where he's a high 30% 3pt shooter. and thats darn good for a Big man in the nba that isnt JUST a chucker.

at worse the man is draymond green. thats at worse. draymond is a 3rd guy on a championship/legendary roster. that aint half bad if you ask me. and he's not 100% 3rd, he's like 2B to klay. because they both play defense, klay's scoring is better. but drays passing is light years ahead of klays. so if i do the math add drays assists and points. he may end up being the real #2 guy. this is what simmons is at his worse and most passive in the nba on a Great team.

From my knowledge of playing and watching basketball for 100 years. i can tell you why his ppg is low or not low but not 20+ per.

thats because entire Top tier teams aint having it. meaning, they will put up a wall so he wont score. So him being a do all guy finds other ways to be effective. dimes and rebounds. poke a couple of balls loose.

and on a team like LSU that doesnt have enough pressure release guys. guys that are good enough to make them pay for shutting down ben. that means they can sit on ben ALL NIGHT LONG without serious repercussions.

so is he lebron or shaq or durant? NO. why not? because he's not alien long for his position like durant, he's not alien large like shaq or bron. which means he cant over power multiple people or shoot over EVERYONE with ease. but do you need those things to be a legendary talent? NOPE. ask Kobe.

wait hold on. this is the real issue. you guys are trying to downgrade this guy to upgrade others. listen this draft might have a few legends in it. that doesnt mean ben wont be one of them.

if kobe, ray allen, vince, and tmac, nash, kg, came in the same draft. do you downgrade who kobe is going to be? no need. those dudes are all legends if you take their primes into account.

Bron is in that discussion with pin point passing imo, he doesn't do as many flashy passes like he used to but his court vision and overall accuracy is elite.

Didn't know the bolded:ehh:

He seems to finish with the right a lot though, maybe he should give the J a chance with the right hand too, unless he just wants to look cool shooting lefty, they are tougher to block:francis:
